If a syndicated talk-radio show host out of Pittsburgh has a reliable source -- a source he calls "Son of Deep Throat" -- the United States may be on the verge of attacking the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, recently declared a terrorist organization by the Bush administration.

Jim Quinn, longtime host of "America's Morning Show", Quinn and Rose in The Morning, broke the story about a strike on select Iranian targets, Thursday, August 16th. The announcement, made two weeks after he got the tip from his source, got the attention of some Washington bureaucrats and raised the ire of some talk radio hosts, who had been tipped to the move by the President himself, but were asked to not break the story.

To put the pieces together, we have to go back to the July 29th Camp David meeting that President Bush had with Tony Blair's replacement, Gordon Brown. The President's generally warm reception of visiting dignitaries was expected by most to be met with a cool response from a man who has been vocal about his doubts regarding the course the U.S. has taken in Iraq.

Surprisingly, when the meeting ended, the two stood together at a press conference announcing solidarity on the course of the War on Terror. This was the tip off to some, including Quinn, that something substantive had happened between the two leaders behind closed doors.

Shortly after that press conference took place, Quinn later explained, his source was already e-mailing him details of those secret sessions. According to Son of Deep Throat, Bush presented evidence to Brown regarding Iran so compelling that Brown was won over to the need for taking military action. This piece of information was not announced at the press conference.

Fearing that word might get back to Iran before plans were fully in place, Quinn chose to sit on the information until the Administration released the public announcement designating the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.  This was all the information Iran needed, he surmised, to know that some military plan was afoot.  Once this designation was made public, he decided it was time to break the story.

Relative to the big guns of talk radio, Limbaugh, Beck and Hannity, Quinn's twelve affiliates and daily broadcast over XM Satellite radio channel 165 is small. Small as he may be in comparative audience, the announcement certainly got the attention of Washington.

Speaking of the incident on his Monday show, Quinn relayed info regarding the dossier the government has been compiling on his morning broadcast for quite some time. Most interestingly, the feds have taken notice of how quickly America's Morning Show is gaining listeners and affiliates. Quinn says he's been told that two Senior White House staffers have been assigned to listen to his broadcast every morning.  He quipped that the only bad part of this all is that he's "created two more government jobs."

Quinn and Rose's syndicated radio show can be heard on twelve affiliates throughout the United States and on XM Satellite channel 165 from 6-9am, Monday-Friday.  For more information or to check affiliate listings, visit them at www.warroom.com.

The Other Iraq

Leftist Politicians and pundits have repeated the worn-out mantra that peace in Iraq is impossible.  They make this argument based on tribal and regional conflicts that seem impossible to mediate.  Their case might be convincing, too, if it were not for Iraqi Kurdistan.  This is the other Iraq -- the one that is peaceful -- where democracy has taken hold and people of different religious beliefs live in peace with each other.  It's likely you've not heard of it before.  After all, it doesn't fit the media's template.  Take a few minutes to learn about this place.  You will be astounded that this is Iraq, too.  And you will have a renewed hope for U.S. efforts to bring democracy to the Iraq we all know.

Whether we realize it or not, the War on Terror to civilians is at best a slogan or a label placed on the ongoing battle against radical Islam.  To troops in the field, it is a life and death fight they face every day -- sleeping and waking.  Aside from going  there ourselves, we can't possibly understand the pressures they face and the physical, mental and psychological toll that freedom for the rest of us is costing them.  Take a few minutes to read some of their blogs.  Get to know them.  Maybe write them an e-mail or send them a package.  This is the unfiltered story of the war -- all the good and bad.
